Mechel’s coal production falls 8% to 14.472 mln tns in Jan–Sep

MOSCOW, Nov 27 (PRIME) -- The coal production of Russian metals and mining group Mechel fell 8% on the year to 14.472 million tonnes in January–September, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

Steel output shrank 7% on the year to 2.976 million tonnes in the period, and cast iron production went down 8% to 2.817 million tonnes.

Sales of coking coal contracted 10% to 5.401 million tonnes.
